Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Yatsu and the Yatsu website. By using Yatsu, you agree to use it responsibly and only with books, files, and services you have the right to access.
Local-First Reader
Yatsu is primarily a local-first ebook reader. You are responsible for the books and files you import, the storage providers you connect, and the devices and browsers where your data is stored.
Accounts and Sync
A free Yatsu Account provides sign-in and Settings Sync. Settings Sync can sync supported Reader and Tracking settings across devices. Books, book files, storage credentials, book progress, bookmarks, highlights, and reading statistics are not synced by Yatsu Accounts.
You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in methods secure. Yatsu may use Google sign-in, one-time email codes, bot protection, and rate limits to operate accounts and reduce abuse.
Settings Sync
Settings Sync is intended to keep supported settings aligned across devices in the background. Some settings may stay local, and some supported settings can be excluded from sync on a per-device basis. Sync behavior may change as Yatsu develops, but the app should make clear which categories are synced.
Acceptable Use
Do not use Yatsu to violate copyright, bypass access controls, distribute unlawful content, attack the service, scrape or overload infrastructure, or interfere with another person's use of the product.
External Services
If you connect Google Drive, OneDrive, Google sign-in, Supabase authentication, Resend email delivery, Cloudflare Turnstile, Stripe billing, or another third-party service, that service may apply separate terms and privacy policies. Yatsu is not responsible for third-party service outages, policy changes, or data handling outside Yatsu's control.
Paid Features
Yatsu Accounts and Settings Sync are currently free. Yatsu may offer paid plans, including Yatsu Supporter, for users who want to support development and server costs. Yatsu Supporter is a paid account tier billed through Stripe. It may not include additional product features at the time of purchase, unless the checkout page or account page says otherwise.
Any paid feature should disclose price, billing interval, renewal behavior, cancellation path, quotas, and material limits before purchase. Paid plans renew until canceled. You can manage or cancel billing through the billing portal linked from your Yatsu Account, when available. Future features may be made available first or only to paid tiers, but Yatsu does not promise that any specific future feature will be delivered.
Availability and Changes
Yatsu may change, suspend, or discontinue features. The service is provided as available, without a guarantee that every feature will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Termination
Yatsu may restrict or terminate access for abuse, unlawful activity, security risk, or a material violation of these terms. You may stop using Yatsu at any time, and you may request deletion of account or sync data through the support channel published in the app or on this website.
Yatsu may delete free accounts and associated sync data after 18 months of inactivity, or sooner if needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service maintenance. An account is generally considered inactive when there has been no sign-in or meaningful account activity. Active paid accounts will not be deleted for inactivity while the paid subscription remains active, unless deletion is required for abuse, security, legal, or operational reasons.
Contact
For terms questions, contact the Yatsu maintainer through the support channel published in the app or on this website.
